Configuring minimum order value & weight
To ensure a smooth fulfillment process and maintain operational efficiency, brands can configure minimum order requirements in Loop, which includes both Minimum order value and Minimum order weight.
These settings help ensure that subscribers cannot modify their upcoming orders (such as removing products) if doing so brings the total value or weight of the order below the set threshold. By setting these minimums, brands can reduce shipping inefficiencies, control logistics costs, and still offer flexibility to customers, striking the right balance between business needs and customer experience.
In this article, we’ll see how to configure this in Loop and explore the behaviour of how it appears on the customer portal.

Enabling the minimum order setting
Follow these steps to complete the process.
- Navigate to Loop admin > Customer portal > Preferences > Edit/ Remove products section.
- Enable the required minimum order setting based on your use case, whether it’s value-based or weight-based.
Customer portal experience
We'll explore two different scenarios based on the configured conditions and how the corresponding error message is displayed to the customer. This setting, when enabled, prevents the customer from removing any product from their subscription if doing so brings the order below the minimum threshold. However, customers can still add products to their subscription.
Case 1
In this case, the brand has enabled the "Minimum order value" setting and set the threshold to $100. If the total order value drops below this defined amount, the system will restrict product removal and display an appropriate error message to the subscriber.
Follow these steps to complete the process.
- Subscriber logs in to the customer portal and clicks on the "Edit" button next to the skip button.
- Click on the Remove button to continue.
- As soon as the subscriber selects the product to remove, an error message is displayed if the total order value falls below the defined threshold.
Case 2
In this case, the brand has enabled the "Minimum order weight" setting and set the threshold to 10g. If the total order weight drops below this defined amount, the system will restrict product removal and display an appropriate error message to the subscriber.
Follow these steps to complete the process.
- Subscriber logs in to the customer portal and clicks on the "Edit" button next to the skip button.
- Click on the Remove button to continue.
- As soon as the subscriber selects the product to remove, an error message is displayed if the total order weight falls below the defined threshold.
