Edit subscription products

With Loop Subscriptions, you have a powerful editor that allows changes to be made to an active subscription, whether it's related to products, billing, shipping, or payment. In this guide, we’ll focus specifically on how to edit subscription products, covering all the key actions you can take as a merchant.

Edit existing product


This section covers all the actions you can take to modify products that are already part of an active subscription.

Edit product


Follow these steps to complete the process

Navigate to Loop > Subscriptions > Click on the subscription ID



Click the pencil icon to edit the product’s price or quantity.



The edit product dialog box will appear, where you can update the quantity, product price, and subscription-related discounts.



Understanding the edit product options

Quantity: Used to change the product count.
Base Price: This will change the original price of the product in the subscription. The final price will be calculated according to the discount given in the selling plan. This action does not change the price of the product in Shopify and only affects the subscription data.
Edit Discount Amount: This option helps to change the discount price of the subscription. By checking the box "Change discount offer after specific payments", you can define at what stage the updated discount should apply.
Edit Subscription Price Directly: This allows you to directly change the final pricing of the subscription.

Replace an existing product


You can also replace the currently subscribed product with another product directly from the admin portal.

Follow these steps to complete the process

Click the pencil icon to replace the current product in the subscription



The Edit Product dialog box will appear. Click on the Change product link, select the product you want to replace the original with, and then click the Select button.





The dialog box will update with the new product details. You can adjust the discount options to set the final price, and then click Save.



The subscription will be updated with the new product details.



Delete an existing product


You can also delete a product from an active subscription if it's no longer needed.

Follow these steps to complete the process

Click on the bin icon shown in the actions column against the product that needs to be removed from the subscription.



The remove product dialog box will appear with two options — Remove one-time and Remove from subscription — you can choose either based on your requirement and then click Remove to confirm.



The deleted product will be removed from the subscription, and the subscription will be updated with the new details.



Note: A product can only be removed from a subscription if there are at least two products in it. If there's only a single product, the bin icon will be disabled automatically.


Add a new product


You can add a new product to an existing subscription directly from the admin portal, allowing you to customize and update subscriptions based on customer needs or specific requests.

Follow these steps to complete the process

Navigate to Loop > Subscriptions > Click on the subscription ID to open the desired subscription > Click on the add product link.



Select the product from the list, customize the price/discount setting, select whether to add it as a one-time or a subscription product and click on Save.





The subscription will be updated with the new product details.




Add a discount


Using Loop, we can apply additional discounts to the current subscription as needed.

Follow these steps to complete the process

Navigate to Loop > Subscriptions > Click on the subscription ID to open the desired subscription > Click on the add discount link.



An "Add Discount" dialog box will appear, presenting four different discount types to choose from.



Choose the desired discount type, enter the required details, and click on Add.



The new discount is added, and the subscription price is updated accordingly.
