Update payment from admin portal
This guide will walk you through the payment update options available for a brand store admin on the Loop admin portal. In cases where the customer reached out to you and asked you to either update their card details or switch to another payment method, then you can seamlessly update, edit or trigger an email to the customer to update their payment.

Accessing the current payment method
Follow these steps to complete the process.
- Navigate to Loop > Subscriptions. A list of all the subscriptions on the store will be shown with search options. Paste the customer's email to loop for subscription, where you have to edit the payment method.
- Open the subscription. The Admin portal view of the subscription contract will open, with all the actions available for the admin to perform will be visible.
- Scroll to reach on the "Payment details" tab on the right side of the portal.
- Customer's current payment details on the contract will be displayed here.
Update the current payment method
To update the current payment method, the admin can either send an email to the customer with payment details or the admin can do it themselves if the customer has shared their card details and billing address with them.
Follow these steps to complete the process.
- On clicking "Send link to update payment details", an email will be sent to the customer via Shopify to update their payment method. On clicking "Update payment method yourself", a form for filling in the card and billing address will open. Paste the details shared by the customer in this form and click on "Confirm".
- The new card details will be reflected on this subscription contract.
Switching to new payment method
- Upon clicking "Switch to another payment method", a list of available payment methods mapped to the customer profile on Shopify will appear for the admin to choose. If a subscriber has multiple subscriptions, then the admin also has an option to apply this payment method to all subscriptions of the customer.
- An admin can also add a new card too and after saving it this card will appear in this list. Choose the new card and save it. All the subscription contracts will now have this new card mapped against the payment method.
