How to integrate Loop with Friendbuy?


Prerequisites


Before starting the integration process, we need to make sure these things are in place.


✅ You should have an active Frienbuy account. If not, please create from here.

✅ Your Shopify account is connected to your Friendbuy account.


If the above prerequisites are met, follow these steps to complete the process.


  1. Navigate to  Loop > Tools & apps > Apps > Friendbuy and click on Connect.



  1. Under the Set up instructions tab, we need to enter the API and secret key.



  1. To retrieve the required keys, open your Friendbuy app and navigate to Developer center > API Keys and click on "Create an API Key".



  1. Copy the API and Secret key.



Note: The Secret key is only visible once. Copy it to a safe location.


  1. Head over to Loop app again and paste the API Key and Secret key and click on Connect.



  1. Once connected, the Friendbuy loyalty widget will be enabled on the customer portal.



Customizing the Loyalty drawer


Manage translations


Follow these steps to complete the process.


  1. Navigate to Loop > Tools & apps > Apps > Friendbuy and click on Manage.



  1. Head over to the Texts tab to change the translations.



Note: Global brands can now display loyalty widget texts in customers' local languages without the need for any third-party app, offering enhanced multilingual support. Navigate to Loop > Settings > Multilingual texts > Apps to configure this feature.


Changing styles and layout


Follow these steps to complete the process.


  1. Navigate to Loop > Customer portal > Themes and click on Customize for the theme for which you want to change the styling.



  1. Head over to the Styles tab to change the card colours.



  1. To change the layout of the rewards drawer, you can add custom CSS under the Styles tab itself per business requirements.



Setting up points rules in Friendbuy


Friendbuy allows you to create various types of point rules, consisting of three main sections.


  • Member tiers
  • Earning points
  • Redeeming points



To set up Redeem rewards, follow these steps to complete the process.


  1. Navigate to Loyalty > Redeeming points > Click on the "+" icon



  1. Enter the required details. After selecting the Shopify coupon, a dialog box will appear where you can input the code prefix and discount information. Click on "Save changes" to proceed.




  1. As per the new rule set, customers will be able to get the redemption coupon directly in the customer portal.



  1. For each type of code generated under a specific redemption rule, all codes are grouped under a single discount in the Shopify discounts section.


Example: The code shown below was generated under a redemption rule that offers a $20 coupon.



Now, navigate to the Shopify discounts screen, you’ll see a new discount set created for the $20 coupons, named FBY-PR-AC-20.0



Now, click on the "View all codes" link to see the newly generated coupon from Loop listed under this section.




Note: All coupon-related settings must be configured directly from the Shopify screen for that specific discount set. These settings, such as Purchase type, Eligibility, Maximum discount uses, and more, will automatically apply to all coupons grouped under that set.
