Subscription widgets allow customers to subscribe to regular deliveries of a product, often at a discounted rate compared to one-time purchases. Widgets provide options for customers to select the frequency of deliveries (e.g., weekly, monthly, quarterly) and manage their subscriptions directly from their customer portal. Selling plans enable customers to subscribe to a product by giving them options for different billing frequencies like weekly, monthly, yearly, etc. These configurations are set up in the Selling Plans section of the Loop app. If you are using a 3rd-party app and then trying to explore Loop Subscriptions as well, it is possible that their widget will be showing our selling plans and create havoc. Once selling plans are created, the next step is to map products to these plans. Mapping a product to a selling plan allows it to be purchased according to the options set within the plan. For example, if a selling plan offers 4 delivery frequencies, all mapped products will be available for purchase with any of those frequencies. To maximize customer lifetime value, you might want to hide the One-time Purchase option from the product widget for specific products.
