Standard subscription

Standard subscriptions are the most common and straightforward type of subscription. A customer subscribes to a product, and it’s delivered to them on a regular schedule — for example, every 2 weeks or once a month. You receive payments on the same recurring cycle. Standard subscriptions offer convenience for customers and provide predictable revenue for your business.

Examples of standard subscriptions include

Coffee beans: Weekly delivery of fresh coffee beans
Pet care food: Monthly supply of pet food
Skincare: Bi-weekly shipment of skincare essentials
Essential vitamins: Monthly multivitamin packs

Once the subscription is active, everything runs automatically unless the customer chooses to pause, edit, or cancel it. Loop subscription allows you to set up standard subscriptions on your store with ease.

Problem statement

A merchant wants to offer a 10% discount on a product for users who purchase and subscribe to it at a defined frequency. Once subscribed, the recurring orders will be scheduled as per the settings configured in the system.

Prerequisites

Before implementing, we need to make sure these things are in place as discussed in the above steps.

A selling plan should be created with the applicable discount configured.
The required products must be mapped to the selling plan.
The Loop widget should be installed.

Use case testing

Follow these steps to complete the process.

User navigates to the store, searches for the desired product.

Click on the Subscribe button visible in the widget section, select the required frequency, add the subscription to the cart, and complete the checkout process to purchase the product.

Based on the purchase, a subscription is created in Loop and details of that can be accessed from both the admin and customer logins. Recurring orders will be automatically placed through the Loop app, and the user will continue to receive the products at the selected frequency intervals.
